Italian Translation of "The Canals of Mars" to be Published |

 An Italian version of The Canals of Mars (Carcanet, 2004) will be published by Mobydick, a publisher in Faenza, on March 29th 2006. I canali di Marte is a parallel text edition, edited and translated by Giorgia Sensi. It includes 32 poems from the collection The Canals of Mars and four new poems which were included by kind permission of its author. The publication of the book was made possible by a grant from Llenyddiaeth Cymru Dramor/Welsh Literature Abroad.
Una versione italiana di The Canals of Mars (Carcanet, 2004) verrà pubblicata dall’editore Mobydick (Faenza) il 29 marzo 2006. I canali di Marte è un’edizione con testo a fronte, cura e traduzione sono di Giorgia Sensi. Il volume comprende 32 poesie dalla raccolta The Canals of Mars e quattro nuove poesie che sono state incluse per gentile concessione dell’autore. La pubblicazione del volume è stata resa possibile dal contributo di Llenyddiaeth Cymru Dramor/Welsh Literature Abroad. |

November 2005: Lynette Roberts, Collected Poems, edited and with an introduction by Patrick McGuinness. Carcanet Press. This book will make generally available for the first time a lost modernist poet whose advocates included TS Eliot (her editor at Faber) and Robert Graves. Lynette Roberts (1909-1995) was an extraordinary and original poet whose work has until now been only available in libraries. Her Collected Poems will restore a lost modernist classic to literary history. A volume of her prose is planned for 2007. |

In October 2007, Poetry Wales publishes a special issue of contemporary Québecois poets. The poets include Hélène Dorion, Pierre Nepveu, Paul Bélanger, Jacques Brault and Yves Boisvert. The issue can be ordered from Poetry Wales or Seren books online. In March 2008, Lynette Roberts's prose will be published by Carcanet. The book includes her war diary, short stories and essays. In November 2008, the Czech publisher Periplum will publish a Czech translation of The Canals of Mars, translated by Alexandra Buchler and Eva Klimentova. See www.periplum.cz |
